Which are more important; Carbs or Calories?!

Question: Which are more important; Carbs or Calories!?
I am not on a diet, but I have been using www!.thedailyplate!.com to track my meals, calorie (and etc!.) intake daily!. It seems to be working GREAT! I am losing weight in a very healthy way!.

But I noticed that I am only allowed 223 carbs per day and I have exceeded it everyday by no more than 40g, but my calorie intake is still at least 300-500 calories short of my normal allowance (because I work out everyday)!.

I guess my questions is, should I pay more attention to my calorie intake (like I have been), or my carb intake!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

well, you shouldnt be thinking about it like that at all!.
you need to know the different kinds of calories/ carbs
you need to do a little research on high glycemic index carbs and low glycemic index and see how they work in your body!. not all calories are created equal and will work differently in your body!. calorie counting is really a misleading practice as it does not correctly identify how your body works with the food you consume!.

also, jena, what the hell are you talking about!. if you dont know what you're saying, stay off of the answersWww@Answer-Health@Com

Carbs are essential for bodily function!. You need carbs so that u have the energy to exercise and burn more fat!. That's why olympic athletes usually stock up on carbs before their big race!.

Carbs are actually fuels - they fuel your body to do cellular work such as 100m sprints, runs, swimming etc!.

So you need carbs more than calories!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Frankly, counting calories is out dated!.

What you should be focusing on is the carbs!. You must however distinguish between good carbs and bad carbs!.

Good carbs are those that burn slowly!. Bad carbs are those that burn quickly!.

It's much more complex than this but that's it in a nut shell!.

If you would like information on the glycemic index and how to choose good carbs over bad carbs, feel free to email me and I will be glad to help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

simply put ,BOTH!. If you are exercising you should take in some carbs IMO , but I have found that sedentary people can get away with almost no carbs at all!. Check out this movie !.
the punchline is 'BOTH' are important!.

CALORIES by far!. The reason carb diets work well is because they CAUSE you to decrease the amount of calories you consume!.
But only basing it on carbs will only produce short term results!.
