Answers:

The average women who is out of puberty and menstruating, should have a caloric intake between 1500-2000 calories a day. You should not cut your calories any lower than this, as it would be dangerous, especially since you're tall. Your weight is not actually outside the healthy weight range for your height, but I understand how you feel about wanting to lose weight. I'd love to lose 15 pounds.(I'm 5'7'' and 150 pounds, which is still in the healthy range, but I've always been between 125-130 pounds. That is the weight I'm happiest at). You're right about cutting out the sodas ad drinking more water (I'm doing the same thing right now), but make sure that you're getting your calories form whole REAL food, not fat-free foods that are low in fat,but high in sugar (which your body will turn into fat anyway!). Eat breakfast( studies show that people who don't eat breakfast tend to be heavier) And make sure you're breaking a sweat 3-4 times a week or 30 min. a day. Eat smaller portions more often (6-7 times a day), this will boost your metabolism. You should notice a difference very soon. Also- don't deprive yourself. Allow your self something you love at least once a week. And if you have a major sweet tooth, like I do, try eating berries. Your body will recognize the sugar, which will kill your craving but it will turn the natural sugar into energy-not fat. Good luck!
