Caffeine Withdrawal?!

Question:

Caffeine Withdrawal?

I am considering cutting my caffeine intake way down, nearly completely out of my diet. Has anyone suffered from withdrawl symptoms when cutting caffeine? Right now I would be considered a heavy caffiene user, 6+ cups a day

Answers:

yes - I occasionally try to go off caffeine - I have GERD and the acidic drinks are really not good for you.

I am also a heavy coffee drinker - when I go off caffeine I get irritable and snappy right away. It is harder to wake up in the morning and get going. Then if I don't have any by the end of the day or the next day, I get really bad headaches. It usually takes over a week for these symptoms to start to go away. It will take longer if you are really addicted. So expect to be tired, grumpy, and have lots of bad headaches for a while. Take lots of Ibprofen until you feel better.

Goodluck! Caffeine is really bad for you so you are making a good choice. You can also weene yourself off of it by drinking lighter drinks - like green tea for a while. Sometimes that helps.
