Question: When people tell you to FAST for weight loss what exactly do they mean !?

Fasting is a means of giving the body a break so that it can easily get rid of toxins from the body!.

*there are diffrent types of fasting : water /fruit/raw food etc!.!.!.

*fasting once a week is considered to be healthy!.

For instance, the water fast helps in reducing the water retention in the body cause of excessive salt intake,wrong dietary intake or less water consumption!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There are many different types of fasts!.

Water fast - nothing but water, obviously!. Some include celery, as it's mostly water and virtually calorie-free!.

Juice fast - Any type of juice is allowed for drinking!. Slightly wiser than the water fast, as you get more nutrients and calories that you need; however most juices are high in sugar or sodium and can cause your sweet/salty cravings to escalate!.

"Nothing" fast - nothing at all, not even water!. I'm not sure why people do this, as it's extremely unhealthy!. These people risk dehydration!.

I'm sure there are other types, as well as religious fasts!. In the long run no fast is a good idea, unless you want to do it for detox (get rid of cravings, start off with a clean slate for your eating habits)!. The weight lost on fasts is usually water and muscle, and weight gained afterwards is fat; so in the long run fasts can actually make you gain!.

Fasting can take on several meanings!. You can fast by only drinking liquids!. No solid food!. Fasting can also mean 1 regular breatfast, small lunch that would actually be like a snack and the same for dinner!. (Lunch and dinner could equal one meal)!. Fasting could also mean no snacking in between your regular meals!. It all depends on the context of the sentence, paragraph or passage!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

that means to not eat for periods at a time!. dont do that!. its not a good way because your metabolism goes into starvation mode and slows down, so when you do eat again you will gain weight back really easilyWww@Answer-Health@Com
