Answers:

Pilates works all of the larger muscles in your body, many of them at the same time. So even though you may not feel like you are getting a good workout you really are.

I have a question for you. Are you doing the movements slowly? If you are you should be getting out of breath and kind of sweaty. If you not then you are not doing it correctly. Each movement should be slow and precise. It's the slow movements that should get your muscles a bit shaky and get you a bit winded. Unlike regular exercise, Pilates does not work with momentum to get your exercises done. It works solely with your muscles and body weight.

Pilates is also best if you can do it every other day instead of 3 times a week. If you do it every other day you should start seeing results in 2 weeks. Pilates will tighten and firm areas very quickly.

I like pilates a lot but do like to add a bit of cardio right before. If you can run in place for just 3-4 minutes before and after your pilates workout you will see a big improvement with your results.

Pilates is excellent for firming and shaping, just remember to move slowly, with precise movements.
