Question:

I want to start jump roping for exercise, pointers please?

I am 15, 5 ft 2in, and in okk shape. Naturally strong and muscular but I want to try to burn some. So Iv'e decided that I want to start jump rope as an exercise every day.
1) How long of a jump rope should I get, what material? I am 5'2.
2)I want to burn plenty of calories, so how long and how often every day should I do it?
3) what parts of my body does it burn fat in?

I have recently thought of the idea to jump rope for my daily cardio. Seeing as you should have at least 20-30 minutes of cardio daily, consider splitting it up into two sessions or complete ten minutes of jump roping, rest for about five minutes, and continue with ten minutes of more jump roping.

I'm 5'6 and I have a rubber jump rope with plastic handles and it works just fine for me. It should burn fat in all places, as do most cardio workouts.
