First trimester coincidental weight loss bad?!

Question:

First trimester coincidental weight loss bad?

If a person wants to change their diet to a healthier (primarily vegetarian with poultry and some fish), and they naturally lose a little in the first trimester, is that bad?

I am an average weight, my BMI is 21, but I was hoping to be at my fittest/leanest, so that it would be best for the baby. I don't want to get gestational diabetes, either. I was just thinking that eating more fruits and veggies might mean a 3-5 pound weight loss, coincidentally. I was wondering if that would be bad?

Answers:

No i think it should be ok as long as you don't continue to loose weight. But make sure to get enough healthy carbs, fibers and iron in your new diet. I maintain a healthy diet low on red meat so I use the canada food guide to help me out, you should check it out. Good Luck, I hope this helps :)
