This is probably one of the best questions I've seen on D&F!.

Generally, any pain or discomfort that is not an ache or burning sensation means you need to stop!. Stabbing pains, shooting pains, anything that develops immediately or is overpowering is something bad!.

The pain from exercise is often a slow-building, deep-seated 'burn' or soreness!. That comes from lactic acid building in your muscles!. That's the 'pain' you should learn to deal with mentally!.

But, if it really hurts, stop!. "Pain" from exercise is more discomfort, not real pain!. When you have real pain, you need to stop!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Scenario 1
When u do weightlifting, you temporarily tear some muscle fibers which then heal by itself in 48 to 72 hours!. The pain is normal and totally understandable!. If the pain is more than 5 days, then should you use some anti inflammatory medications, but if this pain persists for 1 or 2 weeks, consult a doctor!.

Scenario 2
When you are doing a work out, any severe pain with a movement you feel, you should stop immediately!. This can be sudden muscle tear due to that your forced yourself or you did not warm up well!. After that, depending on the region, the pain will be ongoing!.

Scenario 3
Usually when u do weightlifting or running uphill or doing high intensity activities, you may feel like a tearing pain the more you add pressure or the more you push yourself to the maximum, its is normal, this type of pain should be subsidised within 1 or 2 mins!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Generally there are several things you should look for when judging how concerned to be about your pain!. First, the pain should not last long after exercise!. Pain that begins to affect your sports performance is not normal, and this may be more of a problem early in an injury for a high-caliber, competitive athlete than for the casual athlete who can more easily rest the injured part!. Pain that does not go away with rest is not normal!. Pain that begins to affect your function outside of sports, such as walking or sleeping is not normal!. Pain that is constant or increasing over time and does not go away is not normal!. Pain that does not improve with treatment may be something to be concerned about!. Pain that requires increasing amounts of pain medication over time is not normal and you should consider seeing a physician!. Pain that begins to wake you from your sleep is also a concern, especially if it does it every night and increases over time!.
Another sign that may indicate a more serious problem is the development of weakness of the extremity over time!. The development of tingling or numbness, which is the feeling you get when your hand goes to sleep or when you hit your "funny bone" at the elbow, is also not normal and may indicate nerve problems!. If you notice that you are gradually losing motion of the extremity you should seek treatment!. Fevers, chills or severe sweating at night are not normal and you should consider seeking evaluation right away!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
