Practice 30 minutes every day!. This actually will take less time than that, but give yourself that much time anyway!. The trick is to do this every day in order to have success!.

Warm up!. Take a warm bath first to really loosen up your muscles!. Warm muscles are more limber and can help you get farther into the splits!.

Hold a lunge stretch!. Get down on your knees!. Stretch your back leg way out behind you and keep your right leg bent with your foot flat on the floor!. Lean forward as far as you can!. If you are able, lower your head and shoulders past your knee, going as close to the floor as possible!. Hold this stretch for 30 seconds!. No longer than that!.

Bring your back leg in to a bent position under you!. Stretch out your front leg!. Lean way over the knee again!. Hold this stretch also for 30 seconds!. No longer!.

Switch the front leg to the back leg position and the back to front!. Repeat both of these stretches on the different legs!. Remember to hold these stretches no longer than 30 seconds each!.

Now you are ready to go into your spits!. Lower into the spits as far as you can go!. Don't worry if you are several inches off of the floor!. It will come!. Push into them just a tiny bit more than you normally can and hold that stretch for 1 minute!. Again no more than 1 minute!. Repeat this stretch on the other leg!.

Get up and walk around for a few minutes!. This will allow the muscles to go back to where they were!. Go back into the splits a second time and hold for one minute!. Repeat on the second leg!. Do this every day and in no time you will be able to go all the way down into the splits!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

ok I have done acro since I was five if I were you and trying to learn to do the splits now Iwould

stand straight against a wall and get a friend to push one leg up until you say stop then push down then she'll push it up abit highter and so on

then try to do the splits or however far you can get down pushing your hardest for 2 minutes (this will hurt)

then do step one again

sit facing the wall and spread your legs out as far as you can then try pushing your but into the wall

do step one again

then step 2

then lay on your back with both legs straight and push 1 !.leg to your head and hold it there for 10 seconds then do it with the other leg

do step 2

Oh my gosh yes there are sooo many!.!.!.I learned them all in cheerleading when I was in seventh grade!. Although my left splits have always been to the ground and I don't know why!.!.!.!.but anyways, If you have a coffee table at home or basically a low table about 1!.5-2 feet off of the ground that'll work REALLY well!. You need to put one leg up on the table and angle your other leg on the ground [errr could be in the air] into a split position!. You should hold this between 1-2 minutes and then trade legs!. It is a stretch but because you are just starting you should skip a day in between because it could be a very dramatic stretch!. When I started doing this within a week I had my right splits all the way down too but now it's just my left!. After about two weeks you can start to do it every day =DDDWww@Answer-Health@Com

I've always been able to do the splits, so I'd just go into them during gymnastics!. And I'd watch while my instructor taught the other girls how to work on them!. She always said to practice while watching tv!. Just sit in your splits and every once in a while, push yourself down a little further!. Just work on it lots, but make sure you do other leg stretches as well, so you don't make your leg muscles sore!. I hope I helped! =)Www@Answer-Health@Com
