Is my exercise routine all right?? Suggestions please!!?!

Question:

Is my exercise routine all right?? Suggestions please!!?

Ok, so i've finally decided to plan my exercise routine to get myself moving more frequently. I'm planning on doing 30 crunches, side crunches and push-ups. Also, i'm doing 20 dips and curls to work on my arm muscles, since they're really weak. 20 kicks (leg extensions), 3 sets of 15 squats and 5 mins of jump rope. All with a slight rest in between. i'm planning on doing this twice a day, with a few hours interval. It kinda sounds a lot but it really isn't. Is this routine ok for a 14 year old girl who's relatively fit? SUGGESTIONS PLEASE!!! thanks

i'm not going for body building. I've noticed i've gotten slightly fatter (though that does NOT mean i'm fat) and i just want to be fitter and have fun in the progress!

p.s: No i do not have access to gym equipment and i'm doing this all at home WITHOUT equipments. I forgot to mention that i cycle for an hour on Saturdays and horse riding on Sunday, don't think i'll be following this routine then. Does that make up for the cardio bit tho? And yes, i REALLY enjoy doing exercises!!!

Congrats on deciding to begin an exercise routine. First, I will start off by reminding you that fitness means that your body can be "stressed" and recover in a short amount of time. When you say that you will begin doing all of the above mentioned exercises everyday. I hope that you will make sure that you are properly fueling (eating) and hydrating (drinking enough water) each day, plus RESTING appropriately.

The number of exercises you mentioned is not a great deal, however, once your body adapts to the routine, you may stop seeing progress. You have to vary your routine every 6 weeks and increase the "resistance". This means doing more reps and/or sets as you get stronger. Being fit is a great thing, it allows you to enjoy life more. Which is important, do not become exercised obsessed that you forget to enjoy life. You are 14 and it is key that you enjoy and experience life to its fullest.

Good luck, stay committed.
