There is no perfect or right number as they say,but if you have just started out,20 is fine!.Your goal ultimately is to gradually increase that number!.Whether you try to increase it every 5 days or every 2 weeks,etc!.!.it is all up to you!.If anything,you already have the right mindset and that is doing them the correct way with proper form!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It depends on your goals!.

A good goal is to increase you max by 1 push up per week!. I know it doesn't sound like much, but at the end of 1 year you would have increased to doing 72 perfect push ups a day!.

Also you will be giving you body time to adjust to the increase over a 7 day period, before you add another one!.

Once you get here you can always reevaluate!.

If you feel more aggressive you can add 2 - 5 push ups a week!.

i do about 200 and it doesn't work well if i don't also go for a 30 min walk and eat healthy!. and by healthy i don't mean mayo, salad dressing or pizza!. but it depends on your age and weight!. i'm just trying to lose a few pounds so maybe that's why it's working a lil bit slowly!. someone who is overweight should see results immediately!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
