I am going thru the same thing and I totally know what you are talking about, with not wanting to talk to your mom!. My mom found out when I started and she started freaking out making me get doctors appointments and asking like ever five minutes if I had thrown up!. This was really hard for me to talk about because it was so embarrassing!. I found that it really helps to see a nutritionist - you can look one up in your area!. That was the main thing that helped me to get over it because then i didn't have to talk with my mom about it and my mom knew that I was getting help with it!. Also, I would seriously seriously seriously consider asking your mom to schedule a doctor's appointment so that you can get a blood test - you need to make sure your electrolytes are at good levels because you can seriously hurt yourself!. I am not trying to lecture you because I know how hard it is to stop but at the very least check your electrolytes with a blood test (make sure your potassium level is okay!!!) and also try to take a multivitamin (and not throw it up!) What happened to me was that my potassium got really thrown off and I started having like these fits of shaking and I got so weak I couldn't even press on the brake of my car!. So it was pretty bad! You can also throw off your electrolytes so much that your heart can go into arrhythmia and you can die!. I am not trying to scare you!.!.!.my parents tried to use the scare tactics on me and it obviously didn't work! What I am trying to say is make sure you get a blood test, please!
I wish you the best of luck with quitting!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm sixteen, and I was bulimic for about 2 years!. I know, it's hard!. I couldn't talk to my mom about it either, she and I just didn't have that relationship, and I didn't want her to totally flip out!.

To be perfectly honest, i still find it hard not to, and it's sad to hear about others with the same problem!.
Eventually, after doing everyday, the stomach acid began to eat away at my teeth, I got heartburn, and sometimes I would get sick even when it wasn't intentional!. I always thought I could control it myself, but I just got deeper and deeper in!.

There is no way out, all I can really say is that I know its hard, and that it sucks really bad, and how i wish I would have told someone!. It'll be more embarrassing when your laying in a hospital and on a feeding tube you know!?
You've gotta help yourself before you get in too far, i wish you the best of luck, please talk to someone!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm sure you don't want to go to hospital after hospital and at sometime if you don't get help and stop now you could have to be tube fed!. This all has happened to me!. get some help from a doctor or therapist!. this is more than you can just handle yourself, it's a disease!. don't be ashamed or embarassed, it's not your fault!. in the mean time, try to eat slowly and eat healthy things!. this can make you less likely to revert back to your old habits!. if you slip up (it's ok, this is a tough thing to battle) make sure you brush your teeth well, stomach acid can destroy your teeth quickly!. remember that this isn't your fault, and don't be afraid to ask for or accept help with this!. it's tough to go it alone!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

read up all you can on the interenet about bulimia
if you have been diagnosed with it by a doctor they should refer you to nutritional counselling
if you havent, make yourself go to the doctor so you can get some professional help because its the only way you will change

Sister, I want to encourage you by saying you are not alone!. Too many young ladies are bulimic!. It scares me as a pastor because if it isn't stopped it can create permanent health problems!.

I'm not going to tell you, "don't be embarrassed" as you already are!. I am going to tell you that you need to find the courage to move past the embarrassment and talk to your mother!.

To make it easy, print off your question or one of the answers!. Show it to your mother and say, "we need to talk"!.

Here's why you need help!. Both bulimia and anorexia involve self-image problems!. That is you don't see yourself in the mirror the same as I or another would see you!.

When I was young, they used to have these mirrors at the amusement parks!. They intentionally distorted your image!. You would look real tall and skinny or real short and fat!.

You may have that type of mirror in your mind!. So you look at yourself and don't see what's really there!. I might look in that mirror and see a very skinny young lady!. You would look in the same mirror and say, "no, I'm fat"!.

Also too often this is fed by things inside of us!. often the things are what others have said to tease us!.

These sort of problems will get stronger!. We all need help in dealing with them!. I also regularly see a counselor to help me with some of these and other issues!.

Your mother can give you so much support!. She can encourage you, take you to a counselor, help you get some medication if needed!. She can do a lot to help you with this!. However she can't help you unless you first tell her what's happening!.

Please remember that God loves you!. He will also strengthen and help you as you work on this!.
