Yes it's good to work out at this age!. Contrary to popular myth itwon't stunt growth, there is absolutely no scientific or medical evidence supporting the idea that lifting weights or any other exercise will stunt growth or cause harm (have anyone making that claim show you the supporting study)!. Exercise in itself is very benificial and many top IFBB and powerlifting pros started at a very young age and are 6'+!.

That being said, the only time lifting is harmful is when performed incorrectly or with weights far beyond a person's capabilities!. Since you're just starting, find an experienced adult, or better yet a certified personal trainer to get you started and show you how to lift correctly and safely!. Another teen isn't going to cut it as they're inexperienced by default!.

Organized sports cause a much higher incidence of injury in young people by far, even permanent injury, than weight lifting ever did!. Even more than that, being sedentary and obese will cause more harm than any exercise!.

So, your best bet is to learn as much as you can about exercise and nutrition, it will be nothing but benificial for the lifespan!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Absolutely not!. Right now your body is focusing on growing, weight lifting will build muscle for you but it will also inhibit bone growth because of the pressure put on the bones causing a stunt in your growth!. It's good that you're excited to workout but just wait until you're about 18!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My sister, who is 11, is on a softball team and they are all required to do like 100 situps and 100 pushups and jump rope for 10 minutes every day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

ye i worked out everyday when i was 13 now im 185 lbs in muscle 8% fat

make sure u run cause wen i started i never did and didnt work to well wen u run veins pop out more so u look bigger

Light work outs, sure!.
Working out does stunt your growth though - so since your only 14 your body hasn't grown to it's fullest, it will take longer if you start working out real hard now!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
