Well, I'm not too sure about that myself!. I managed to lose 48lbs in just over 6 months!. Yes, I did lose on a average more than 2lbs a week!. Some weeks between 3lbs/4lbs!. I know that this is quite a lot!. This was 14 months ago!. I have since then been able to maintain my weight with ease!.

I had struggled for many, many years with my weight!. Tried almost every diet out there!. Yes, whilst many worked, some more than others!. Unfortunately, as soon as I stopped the diet, all the weight would pile back on, plus more!.

So I came to the conclusion that I would change my lifestyle!. I decided to eat a healthy sensible diet and embarked on regular exercise (something I had never done before)!. The results were absolutely amazing!.

I think weight loss is all about 70% diet!. Any exercise will help accelerate your weight loss!. But especially, cardiovascular exercise!. It tones the entire body by burning off excess calories!. I joined a gym and took to running on the treadmill!. I now run on a regular basis!. Running is an extremely vigorous exercise!. It is an extremely efficient way to burn calories too!.

So I wish you lots of good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

2lbs per week is the accepted level of body fat one can lose per week with healthy weight loss (For morbidly obese people, that number increases to 1% of total body weight per week)!. Any more than that is a sign of unhealthy weight loss which can be water weight in the best of circumstances, or muscle weight in the worst of circumstances because muscle loss is a symptom of malnutrition and by proxy, a possible symptom of mental issues like eating disorders!.

I do understand your curiosity!. I too, would like to know the research that brought about that particular number!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There is nothing wrong with it per se, it is the recommended amount because if you lose more, you risk gaining it all back, losing muscle instead of fat or losing liquids instead of fat!.
A steady and slow weight loss rate almost guarantees you you are burning fat weight!.

And this is not a golden rule, either, if you are morbidly obese, for example, you will lose a lot more than 2lb per week if out under a weight loss regime!. That number is just a ballpark figure so you know you are on the right track!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

if you lose more than 2 lbs a week due to excessive cardio and a fad diet, then you may lose lots of muscle!.!.under the strict guidance of personal trainers and eating moderately enough amount of all nutrients, you can lose up to 4 or 5 pounds of fat a week and still be very healthy!.!.dont forget that as you lose weight, you must adapt to a style of eating and a proper workout routine to help yourself from not gaining back all the weight you have lost due to so much of your efforts!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I guess some people feel that your not getting all the nutrients that you need because you cant be eating enough!. I dont agree because if your eating 1300 calories a day but are just working out a lot(burning the 1300 off ) then your doing it healthy!. You can probably loose like 4 pounds per week and still be healthy as long as your eating foods from all the food groups

best of luck : )Www@Answer-Health@Com

Because you are not really loosing 2lbs!. You are loosing more water weight than fat!. As soon as you resume eating normally, your body will take back what it needs first and then hang onto it because it thinks it is being deprived!. When you loose 1lb/week you are loosing fat and your metabolism will not freak out and go into starvation mode!. The key to long term and forever successful weight-loss is too loose about a 1lb a week!. This allows for your body to adjust and for your metabolism to go into high gear!. I hope this helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Should only lose 1% of your body weight to heighten your chances of keeping it off while losing it safely!.
So unless you are 200 pounds, I wouldn't want to lose that much a week for more than a week or two!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
