Question:

Is this bad or what ...........please answer?

okay im muslim and the month of ramadan is coming in approximately 2 months. For those of you who don't know ramadan is the month where muslims fast from sunrise til sunset. Anyway i've been going to the weight room everyday for the past month and when ramadan rolls around i don't think i'll be able to go. How detrimental is not going to the weight room for a month?

p.s. i'm trying to build some muscle and all answers are greatly appreciated, thanks

Well, I was aware of Ramadan, but I went and looked it up to get more details on the actual dietary practices, etc. I don't know that you necessarily need to give up the weight room completely, since part of Ramadan is exercising self-discipline. You are also not completely fasting, only not eating between sunrise and sunset, which means you can eat some before that time and some after that time. So if you get enough protein or grains and legumes with amino acids, you should still be OK at the gym, although I probably would cut back on the routine to maybe half the usual. This will keep you from losing too much conditioning and you can use the time to recite the Quran.
