One of the best ways to start yoga is by learning one of the sun salutation sequences!. I find this one the most popular, and the easiest to do: http://yoga!.about!.com/yogasequences/ss/s!.!.!.

Here is a link to a book and another to a video geared specifically to teens: http://www!.amazon!.com/Breathe-Teens-Mary!.!.!.

Heres another video: http://www!.amazon!.com/Teen-Yoga/dp/B000Y!.!.!.

Remember when doing yoga: Always keep the breath steady and deep!. NEVER hold your breath!. Breathe in through your nose, and out through your nose, unless specifically instructed otherwise (there are breathing exercises that employ different ways of breathing) :)

Also, listen to your body!. Yoga should never hurt!. if trying a certain pose starts to hurt, back out of it until you only feel a little discomfort!. Remember to breathe!. Trying to do the pose still gives you the benefit, and over time you will gain the flexibility to move deeper into the pose!. Be patient with your body!. It has had quite some time to get out of alignment, and it will take time for yoga to help pull it back into alignment, giving you great posture and a great sense of well being!.

Another thing to remember is that the balancing postures are hard until you can strengthen your core!. The core muscles are what give you good balance, so work on everything!.
Don't ever give up on yoga! :) Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
