Is it true that if you do a water fast for ten days, you will lose about a pound!


Question:

Is it true that if you do a water fast for ten days, you will lose about a pound a day?

I'm 5'3'' and 111 pounds....does this mean i will be about 101 pounds when i'm finished a ten day fast? ....I know the weight will come back on and all....but at first i will lose this weight...correct...will exercising make this a bigger weight loss? thanks in advance!

No no no! Like go on a water fast....as in, drink ONLY water and no food.....no the oposite way around....taht would be quite stupid..

I think you are partly true. You will lose a few pounds. I highly doubt it will be 10 pounds. You will lose fluid and muscle mass. Adding exercise will add to the results for a limited amount of time. Once your body starts subtracting from you lean body mass, exercise will become quite painful. Eventually your metabolism will start to work against you, this is why after the first few days the weight loss will slow up. Moreover, once you stop and regain the weight you loss, it will be more difficult to lose weight because your metabolism will be slower because it will "think" famine might be imminent. Also, you metabolism will be slower because of the decrease in lean body mass.
