I want to be a Nutritionist/Dietician?!

Question: I want to be a Nutritionist/Dietician!?
Forgive me if this is in the wrong category but I'm posting it in more than one category so I actually get answers!. The same question is in education lol!.

I'm 24 and I'm from Ontario, Canada!. I want to go back to school and become a nutritionist but not even sure where to start!. Where do I study!? What are the requirements!? What schools should I go to!?

I'm worried because I only have one biology from eleventh grade!.

Can I apply as a mature student!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I'm in Human Nutrition at the University of Manitoba right now!.
Almost any university in Canada offers a degree in nutrition!. My degree is called Human Nutritional Sciences and is offered in the Human Ecology faculty!. (I think it's similar everywhere else)!. You end up with a bachelor of science!.

Then, if you want to become a dietician, you have to apply for an internship!. This is very hard to get into and only offered around 5 cities in Canada (I think Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, Winnipeg, and somewhere else!?) In each internship class, they only accept around 20 people, depending on how big the program is!. The internship lasts around 9 months (sometimes unpaid :S)

With my high school requirements, I didn't need biology prereq, but you need to have Grade 12 (or maybe since you're in Ont!., grade 13!?) Chemistry!.
I would look into a few school you're interested in, and see what they have to offer!.

As for the mature student!.!.!.I'm not sure, you'd have to ask different universities!.

Also! University of Manitoba offers Human Nutritional Sciences as a second degree!. You said you wanted to go back to school, so I assume you have a degree already!? If you do, the Nutrition degree only takes 2 years, instead of 4!.

Hope this helps! Good luck, it gets hard at times, but it's very interesting, and very rewarding!

Edit:
Usually if you don't have your high school requirements finished, some universities have courses you can apply to, to finish those requirements!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I live in the UK and have recently looked into becoming a Nutritionist over here (things will probably be very similar in Canada)!. I only had a general science exam from high school, but I found out I could apply as a mature student but would need to do a foundation course in biology and chemistry then go on to do a degree!. I hope that helps xWww@Answer-Health@Com

you will take an entrance exam and they will need a copy of your high school transcripts!. You might need a few extra courses but you will be fine!. This is an excellent field to get into esp!. if you get into a hospital!. You will be needed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
