Teenage weight problem?!


Question: Teenage weight problem!?
I am a 16 year old male and I weigh about 240 pounds I am 5 foot 7!. Is that overweight for my age and if so how overweight!?
Also is 4000 calories a day ok for my age!. I spend my time indoors due to study leave!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

OK!.!.!.240lbs sounds heavy - but I have no idea of your bone structure/muscle mass /how you carry the weight etc!. (pointed out because a friend of mine looks really slim but she weighs so much more than she looks, so it can happen!)

How do YOU feel about your body!? Do you want to lose weight!? Do you feel healthy!? Are you normally active outside of revision/study leave periods of time!?

If you are really unsure then maybe check with your doctor for an honest opinion and some sensible diet/exercise advice!.

Just in case you really are so stupid that you don't, 240lb is 109kg or 17st 2!. This makes you morbidly obese with a BMI of 38!.

And if you really are eating 4,000kcals a day - that's more than 1lb of fat (3,500kcals) (though, on the plus side, you're so grossly enormous that your resting metabolic rate is 2,100 (that's the amount you burn doing nothing, like you are doing - allegedly)!. This means you're eating 1,900kcals more than you need - and gaining very nearly 4lbs a week!. Carry on the way you are and, in a year, you'll be 204kg/448lb/32st/BMI 70 - or dead (most likely the latter)!.

But you're not really 240lb now - are you!.!.!.!? You're trolling!.!.!.aren't you!.!.!.!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, you are seriously fat ( UK) but for USA I'd say average (based on media reports)!. I'm 47 and 6 foot 2 and have never been over 13 stone ( or 180lb )!.

4000 calories is too much!. you should eat between 2000 and 2500 calories a day!. your weight really depends on your build although you can check easily on mypyramid!.comWww@Answer-Health@Com

your only meant to eat 2500 calories a day and 2000 for women!. and instead of staying indoors go out and get some exercise you fat pig!Www@Answer-Health@Com
