Is it better to run at high or low intensity to lose weight?!

Question:

Is it better to run at high or low intensity to lose weight?

I run for 30 minutes and I don't know which is better to lose weight..running at high or low intensity??

Answers:

high intensity running will burn more calories than low intensity running. However, staying at the same rate for quite some time (lets say a month or two) your body gets used to that speed and does not burn as much fat using the fat from your fat cells. If you run at random speeds you will need more energy which requires your body to really work itself harder and you will burn more fat. It's kind of like a car. when your car is running at a constant speed lets say 60mph, its burning a lot of gas at a constant rate. when you slow down or stop momentarily, and then speed up again that take a whole lot more energy and you burn way more gas. Look at it this way. It's takes quite a bit of energy to jump up two feet high when you are standing up... now, compare that to trying to jump the same height only this time you are sitting down and are going to jump up from that position. That takes more energy and you burn more calories. so, variation from high intensity to low works better that just sticking to one or the other. If you use the treadmill try pushing the "hill" button or the "random" button those two will vary your speed and incline. good luck!!
