What's the best way to enable me to do pushups?!
Question: What's the best way to enable me to do pushups!?
I'm an 18 year old male, skinny and tall!. I don't look really weak, but I'm not too strong!. I can't really even do a full pushup, working out and such has just never been my thing!.
From another question I asked on here my interest in doing pushups has been sparked!.
Problem is, I can't even do one full regular push-up!.
I've heard the girl pushups are a good way to get started, but don't know what routine to get into with those even!.
All advice is appreciated, I just want to get to the point where I can do a respectable amount of regular pushupsWww@Answer-Health@Com

Pushups use the pectoral muscles to pull the upper arm across the body, and the tricep to straighten the elbow joint!. Plus deltoids in the shoulder some, and biceps a little!.
Get in the "up" position for a pushup, and lower slowly to the floor!. Start with those, don't worry about pushing back up for awhile!. This half of the exercise is actually a faster strength builder than the upward part of the movement, by a factor of three!.
Work on pull-ups the same way!. My nephew did this, and went from 0 pullups to 12 in just 8 months, becoming 2nd best in his class of 250 in the 8th grade!.
I've never had strong biceps, but at one point could do 50 good plank (straight hips, no dipping) pushups!.
Use the weights for press-ups, or a standing row followed by a pressup, then lower slowly!. Also do chest cross-overs with the weights, and front shoulder lifts!. Do some bicep curls, also tricep kick-backs!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

start small,
like with a few man push ups, eventually you'll get there!.
i had to get up to 9 pushups for this physical test at the base, and i started with three a night, and added two a week!.
seems lame, but it makes it alot easier to build up to the point you need to get with!.
and as with anything, just put your mind to it, and keep at it!.
good luck!

The imortant theng is NEVER push yourself so hard that you strain yourself!. It can put you back months!.
If your upper body strength is on the low side then try swimming!. The breast stroke is not difficut and its almost impossible to push yourself too far!.
Progress will not happen overnight!. You are looking at several weeks of sustained effort!. Take it nice and steady!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can start out by doing standing push-ups off the wall!. When you're ready to move on, do them with your feet on the floor and your arms on a chair!. That's should slowly build your upper body strength until you're able to do push-ups on the floor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Do bicept curls with hand weights!.
Also tone your back and pecks to enhance your pushups!.
