How can I start to like running?!


Question: How can I start to like running!?
Ok, I really want to run because I want to be fit and healthier, but I can't make myself like running!. My mother's a runner, she can run something like 12-15 kms per hour (7-9 miles)!. I would like to be able to run like that, but I can never seem to keep up with it!.
Another one of my problems is that it isn't good for my body type!. I'm very big boned (no, this is not an excuse for being fat or something, I actually AM big boned) and my doctor told me running would be hard on my bones, my body type was made for swimming (he suggested) but there's no pools in my area so that's already off my list!.
One of my problems however is that I can't seem to like running!. I never feel like doing it before I go, and when I'm done I don't feel like doing it again!.
I just bought a bike (for other reasons), but I've looked it up and I would only burn half the calories running burns in an hour, and I can't spend 2 hours of my day biking, I just don't have that kind of time!!

Where did you find that biking only burns half the calories as running!? That isn't true!. Vigorous cycling burns as many calories/hour as running at a 10min/mile pace for an hour!. I run, but I'm not much of a runner and have a hard time with it like you've described!. I've found that biking works well for me!. I can keep it up a lot longer than running too, so really it could burn more calories if you don't hate it as much as running!. Don't bother doing something you hate for exercise!. It shouldn't be torture!. There are lots of ways to get in shape!. Find something that you actually enjoy!.

Note: Another reason biking is good is that you can get your exercise for the day just getting to school or work and back!. You don't have to make extra time for exercise!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just keep on running but take run in a place you like and try different routes!. When I started, the idea didn't seem so interesting either but I grew to enjoy it!. Just think of what you're trying to achieve (getting fit) and that will motivate you enough to make you even like running!. Worked for me at least!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Take an Ipod and listen to your fav music!.Start off jogging with momentum and take deep breaths f fresh air!.Then get faster and keep talking deep breaths, reducing puff-outs, therefore making it moe fun and bearable!.
