Why do I feel so exhausted around 4:30pm?!

Question:

Why do I feel so exhausted around 4:30pm?

I run about 20-30 miles a week (for the past year or so)
I eat well and space out my meals every 4-5 hours with snacks.
I snack at 3:00pm everyday (usually a apple and yogurt)
I sleep about 7-8 hours a night.

This just started about two weeks ago, nothing I have done has changed that much.

Running is one of the things I really enjoy and it allows me to get away from work, wife, baby for an hour a day. It helps release stress and makes me feel great.

Answers:

You are probably running into a blood sugar crash. Just because you haven't changed anything in your diet/exercise routine doesn't mean your body hasn't finally gotten tired. You may need to eat a little more often (2-3 hours). You may simply need to take a stimulant around this time of day (i.e., caffeine).

If you have been losing weight, you may have finally lost enough fat that your body can no longer harvest energy from this source easily.
