When exercising on an eliptical, how many rpm = 4mph?!
Question: When exercising on an eliptical, how many rpm = 4mph!?
My doctor wants me to go at a steady 4mph to lose some of my baby weight!. Right now I am 235 lbs, and I am 5'9!. I would like to get down to 150 lbs or less!. I have an Elliptical machine I use but it only tells me how many rpms I am going!. So how many rpm do I need to be going to equal 4mph!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
Answers:
Apparently, this is the formula: MPH = RPM x Tire Diameter / Gear Ratio x 336
RPM can only be converted into MPH given the size of the tire, or in this case, the diameter of the part inside the elliptical!.
According to someone who owns an elliptical with both RPM and MPH calculations, 70RPM is about 6MPH!.- So I'd say around 45 RPM=4MPH!.
Hope this helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com
