i recently lost 2 and a half stone over about 6 months by eating 3 balanced meals a day that added up to about 1200 calories a day!. if you cut down any more than this you will not be able to keep it up and will end up binge eating!. eating this many calories you will not feel starving and after a few weeks will be used to eating less!. you will of course crave naughty treats, how i dealt with this was to have either one day a week where i ate whatever i wanted (within reason!!!) or buy weight watchers treats such as ice cream, chocolate bars or crisps!. you will get your fix and they are only a few hundred calories!.
if you are getting hungry, fill up on fruit (banana's are good) and drink lots of water!
also, i suggest doing light exercise every day for e!.g!. 30 min walk, then build it up and doing harder exercise for longer
good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

Never think of it as a diet think of it as a life style change which it should be!. Eat what ever you want but only eat a small amount of "bad" things like if you want a candy bar fine but just eat one of the small fun sized candy bars and not a regular one!. Eat plenty of vegetables like two cups with lunch and dinner!. Meat eat only about the amount as the size of the palm of your hand that's really all the protein you need with your meals!. With fish if you like fish try to eat that once a week!. Also for dessert try getting the sugar free jello pudding things in the flavor you like or eat some fruit!. Things like that it's not really hard it's just a matter of thinking before you grab something and eat it!. If your in a hurry get and keep some of the Smart Ones frozen meals!. Don't eat them all the time some of them are high in sodium but if your in a rush and need to eat lunch or dinner they are great!. Also drink water plenty of cold water!. It will help keep your hunger down and keep you hydrated!. Good luck =)Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all diets have a built in failure clause!. You can't win!. The thing to do is to eat sensibly, and if you overeat, then try to find out what sets you off and do something about it!. Maybe you eat to fast (very common cause of overweight) eat while you're thinking or doing something else so your brain never knows that you've really eaten or how much until it's too late!. Or maybe you eat when your bored!. That kind of thing!.

The answer is to eat healthy foods, lots of veggies, fruit, fish that kind of thing!. Lay right off sugar and stuff with a lot of fat in, like cream and pastry and drink plenty of water but none of that will work unless you get enough exercise !.

Most importantly, include a daily treat AND MAKE SURE YOU ENJOY IT AND DON'T FEEL GUILTY!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

to prevent cravings, there are two ways:

1!. the reason you crave in the first place, is because something is missing in your diet!. so do eat carbs, protein in moderation along with and vegetables!.

2!. My dietician swears by Glutamine powder for reducing cravings and also improving nutrient absorption!.

for a workable diet -
here is what my dietician suggests - follow a practical diet!. start your meal with a soup or a huge salad!. this fills u up!. Make sure your plate has this ratio - 50% veg, 25% carb(potaotoes, corn and peas come in carbs category), 25% protein!.this will prevent cravings too!.an occassional treat is OK!. have a snack every three hours!. fruit (ideally berries) or soy nuts!. just 2 tbsp of soya subsides hunger pangs!. switch from white rice and bread to brown!. eat 900gms of veggies a day!.Lose a kilo a week!. that is permanent loss!. pick an exercise regime you like!.
get a pedometer and try to take 10,000 steps everyday!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Aside from daily exercise, make sure you eat meals regularly!. DO NOT starve yourself!. Starving yourself will make you crave and will make you want to eat waaay more than the amount you usually eat!. So, just lessen your food intake!. When you have achieved your "dream weight", all you have to do is maintain it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have the very same problem!.

Boredom can be the main reason for this, coming from personal experience :P but I suggest, if you're feeling low or have nothing else to do!.

Maybe go for a walk, once done you'll feel better knowing that you've done your body good!.

Oh yes!.!.!. those little snacks in the fridge/cupboard!.!.!. just tempting you to take a bite, gah! I'm sure all dieters know that feeling!. Instead of reaching for that delicious chocolate cake, do one better and take the celery!. Hard, I know, but worth it in the end!.

And if all else fails, put an elastic band around your wrist!. Feeling peckish!? SNAP!. That outta keep your mind off it!.!.!. or hurt your wrist, whatever comes first!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Use small treats as a reward system for goals achieved, ie!. after a good exercise work out, or after losing a previously selected weight - ie!. half a stone!.

A few small treats here and there are fine if part of a balanced and healthy diet/lifestyle!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

for small treats have some
-nuts
-fruit maybe with cottage cheese if you like
-frozen fruit like bananas, oranges, grapes and what ever you like
-veggies with dip like hummus, salsa, cheese dip or bean dip
-for something sweet try non-fat frozen yogurt (control portien)Www@Answer-Health@Com
