A couple of things that are lifesavers for me when I eat out!. First, order water!. Ask for a pitcher if possible so you don't have to wait for the server to bring more, and always use a straw because you will drink faster and more!. Secondly, before your food even arrives at the table ask your server for a TO GO box and when your food does come, immediately box up 1/2 of what is in front of you and TAKE IT TO THE CAR! Then eat everything on your plate without guilt, and you will have an appropriately portioned leftover for a later meal!. Hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

OK everyone, lets be honest w/ ourselves: we can not live on salad or soup, alone! Kudos to you for dieting!. Going out to eat should be a pleasurable experience (not a loathing the salad opportunitiy)!. Here are a few tips: if you're dying to have that appetizer, get it but only eat it in moderation!. If you got an appetizer, skip the bread and dessert!. For your entree, there are a lot of yummy grilled options!. Don't get any creamy sauces though (tons of hidden calories)!. If you're worried that your dish has a lot of calories, ask for half to be wrapped, right away or share it with someone!. If they're passing around the cake and you have to have it, have small piece (size of post-it note)!.

And try working out that day, you'll feel better and make better options!.

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It really depends on what "dieting" you are doing!. If you are just cutting back in general and not on a specific type of diet then the things you need to avoid are bread, High fat or starchy foods!. A few tips that will help you is get fresh veggies instead of a potato, get your salad dressing ( a low fat variety) on the side and dip your fork in it so you taste it in every bite but don't over do it!. Nix the salt, drink lots of water with your meal, and choose something grilled or baked!. You know what is and is not good for you!.!.!.!.Just make a concious decision to make the right choices!. Just because you are eating at a restuaraunt does not mean you need to pig out and fall off the wagon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well you have 2 ways to handle this :
- either you eat something light before going out like an apple so you won't arrive there hungry !.
It is totally wrong to go hungry or to starve yourself because you will end up eating alot !.

Your body only can handle 400 calorie per meal so if you eat more than that it will go directly to your fat storage !.

- You can order grilled things, avoid souces and all sugarie stuff!. Also, you can make your special order if their menu doesn't contain any vegetarian or healthy food!.

- If you couldn't avoid carbs / fat eat small amount of it and order salad !. Eat the salad first and that's mostly will make you feel satisfied !.

- don't eat desert ! I know it sound horrible but hey if you eat it, you should wieght 4 hrs before you sleep or you will mostly gain more fat getting stored !.

I hope you enjoy this night !
I am having a diet too and I know what are you going through, but I am handling it very well, I don't eat any carbs or oil !. I eat dairy products which are low fat, grilled chicken because it is less in fat than meat and alot of greens vege :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

you can eat whatever you want!. the trick is, stop eating the minute you start to get full! most overweight/obese americans are the way they are because even if they are full, they feel they have to eat!. so remember, even if the food looks really good, just tell yourself "that food sure looks good, but i'll look even better when my diet's done"!!! good luck on your diet and happy birthday to your dad!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Good for you!!! Eating out is tough, I always eat too much!. Avoid fried foods and cream based sauces!. A salad with eg chicken is fine - you can ask for no dressing if it's a really creamy one!. Pasta with tomato based sauce is good, grilled fish, baked potato with no butter or sour cream etc!. Another tip is just to eat half of what's on your plate!. Don't drink anything except water (fizzy water is fine - the bubbles actually make you feel full!)!.

Don't eat bread or garlic bread!. Skip the entree even if others are having one!. And maybe order a dessert if you really feel like one but just have a few bites!.

It's OK to enjoy yourself - especially if it's just now and then!. But I know how it feels, when you make a start you don't want to feel like you've blown it after one day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You didn't say what kind of restaraunt, but here's some choices I've made in the past:

1) Baked potatoe with hot sauce on it- fills you up & the hot sauce is spicy
2) Soup that's not "cream of" anything- skip the bread or crackers
3) Broiled fish & veggies
4) Salad greens with roasted veggies!.
5) Drink iced tea or water w/ lemon

Don't be afraid to ask for anything prepared the way you would like it- it's their job to want to please all customers!

Have fun!Www@Answer-Health@Com

dont be shy to ask the waiter to make a small portion meal so you wont be tempted to eat alot!. Also, no fatty drinks like soda!. On the menu try finding fish, salad, chicken, meat!. The fish chicken and meat CANT be fried!. For dessert, if they do, i doubt it, look for a fruit salad or milkshake (Fruit ones)!. But if there is like cake, dont eat it!. Plus, at dinner, dont eat bread, wheat, pasta!. ****hopefully your not going to an Italian Restaurant***!. EAT ALOT OF FRUITS AND VEGGIES (BY THE WAY, if your bringing a purse, maybe pack something healthy for dessert, but not to much!.!.!.!.SHHH!!!!))Www@Answer-Health@Com

well, get water

get what you want!.!. I can't help you if i don't know what kind of food you are looking at, but you should try getting something baked with veggies!. try looking for the healthiest thing on the menu!.!.!. if it is between one or two!.!.!. then get the one that has the least amount of calories!. Also split your plate into 2 servings and bring one half home for laterWww@Answer-Health@Com

Since it's summertime, a big bowl of salad should satisfy you!. Try to get something with protein and go light on the dressing!.!.!.like olive oil!. Fish and rice are also good options with a side of steamed vegies!. Try to stay away from bread and before you go out, have a cup of yogurt so you won't be tempted or starving when you get there!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

look at how its cooked!.!.!. grilled/baked= good, fried/pan seared/smothered= bad

most places also have healthy options on the menu that are clearly labeled as healthy items!. for a side get the veggie of the day!.!. fresh veggies cant be beat!!

if all else fails, a salad with fish or grilled chicken is an easy option!. stick to water and avoid soda or alcohol and for dessert if they have it order fresh fruit :)

also ask for salad dressing on the side!. if u dip ur food into it u will use less and therefore consume fewer calories

good luck and happy bday to ur dad :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
