Answers:
No, people don't reach a limit in the amount of weight they can GAIN!. A plateau happens when people are trying to lose weight!. Their body becomes too used to their exercise routine and they stop losing weight!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm assuming you meant "lose" since that is what is usually associated with a plateau!.

Anyone can hit a plateau when losing weight!. It just means your body has adjusted to your diet and exercise!. The easiest way to avoid or overcome a plateau is to change or increase your exercise!. For example, if you have been walking for cardio, try doing a couple days per week of light jogging, stairmaster, or elliptical!. If you strength train, make sure you regularly evaluate the amount of weight you are using!. If you can do 10-12 reps easily, time to increase!.

You can also decrease your caloric intake, just make sure you don't go too low, otherwise your metabolism will drop to compensate!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think the heavier you are the harder it is to gain weight!.!.!. I was eating about 2500-3000 calories a day!.!.!. and gained only 20 pounds in 8 months!.

Three years ago when I was 85 pounds lighter, I gained 40 pounds in 5 months by eating 1200 calories a day!.

I was also losing about 1!.5 pounds a day by dieting after hitting 200 pounds!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, there is no plateau for the ammount of weight you can gain!. When you are losing weight, if you slip into a rut and do teh exact same regimine every day you can plateau, but you could keep gaining weight forever!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I work in a field that deals with bariatric patients!. As your previous answerer indicated the only limiting factor in weight is death since consuming more calories than burning results in a net gain!. So I guess my answer is yes they are limited by death!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I understand that everybody's weight tends to plateau, but that those who consistently eat many more calories than they burn tend to move that plateau up by increments!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
