Answers:
It's shin splints!. I've had them!. Yes, they are annoying!. You're not even tired, and you could keep going if it weren't for the pain!. I was told the only thing to do is to take it easy for a while!.

It sounds like 'shin splints', microscopic damage to the muscle fibres in the shin area!.!.!.!.something that develops either through running on different surfaces, over doing it, or in-correct form (i!.e!. not running correctly)!.!.!.!.!.!.!.
The only cure for the pain is unfortunately - rest and ice, so stay off the treadmill for a week or so, ice the pain area to reduce inflammation and stop any further damage to the muscle fibres!. You can still exercise but I would recommend non-impact movement for a couple of weeks i!.e!. cross trainer, bike etc!.
Then ease yourself back into the treadmill running and it should be fine!. (if it continues, rest off the running for a longer period!. If it still continues after that, see a GP)
Hope that helps, enjoy your exercise!.!.!.
