Can you gain muscle and lose bodyfat at the same time?!

Question: Can you gain muscle and lose bodyfat at the same time!?
Since a calorie deficit is needed for fat loss, but extra calories are needed for muscle building, can you really have both occur at the same time!? I eat 6 small meals a day, 20yrs old, male, 195lbs!.

6am - egg beaters, blueberries, skim milk
9am - cup of whole grain cereal, water
12 - deli meat, water
3pm - cup of whole grain cereal, water
6pm - chicken, fish, or meat, green veggies, water
9pm - protein/creatine shake

I eat that every day, lift on a 3 day rotation mon-sat, and run 5k 2-3 times a week!. Should I keep this up or just focus on bulking/cutting at one time!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
no, at the exact same time you cannot!. Your body is either in an anabolic state (growing) or catabolic state (losing) at any given time!. Over a longer time span though, it is possible!. As some of my fellow competitive strongmen do, you can rotate days with a normal meal day, such as you have, with protein/fat days!. On the protein/fat days, you only eat protein and fat!. This will let the protein be used to build muscle and run body functions without going into ketosis of the muscle to break down for amino acids, at the same time you will use the fat as energy since there no carbohydrates to use and instead of storing the fat will be burnt off right away!.

i hope this makes sense!. You should continue lifting normally, but keep your routine 'unroutine' so you work different muscles different days of the week, You may still lose some strentgh or if nothing else you will feel like you have due to lack of energy from carbohydrates!. Once the fat is gone though you can bulk the muscle back up without putting on the fat!.

it is important to note i have never tried this diet myself as i have never had a problem with fat storage

hope this helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes you can because Bad fat is caused by eating a lot of empty calories!. Foods full of sugar, fructose, lactose, sucrose, corn syrup, etc!. Also a lot of the cakes and baked goods!. Muscles are built with protein found in lean meats, fish, beans, etc!. You need to make sure that the amount of calories and the types of food you are eating are right for you, the type of excercise program you are doing, your weight and age!. If you are at a gym, I would talk to a trainer or Dietician!. Good Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Change the 9am and 3pm meals to a protein like chicken or turkey with a fruit like apple, strawberries, pears or bananas!. Basically you are increasing your protein intake and the fruit for energy!. Besides that everything else is great!. Plenty of rest is needed as well for the muscles to grow!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
