Fist time running 10 MILES?!


Question:

Fist time running 10 MILES?

today i plan on jogging (slow pase) for 10 miles on my eliptical machine .. i istimate it will take about 2 1/2 hours

i never jogged this much before probly the longest i jogged was 6miles ..

is this dangerous in anyway .. is this too much running for a 16 yr old or am i just being to cautious? and wont all this running make me really hungry.. ( running usually does this to me)

and how much should i eat before i run so i dont pass out or anything because all i had to eat sofar today was yogurt im afreiad if i eat too much and run ill get sick

In my experience running on an elliptical is nowhere near as hard as actually running. Have you been building up to this, or have you decided to go from 3 miles to 10 on a whim? I have run 21/2 hours on an elliptical before and was fine, but I worked my way up. Have water handy, fruit for after you're finished and quit if you're becoming uncomfortable. At least you won't be in the middle of nowhere.
