Does anyone think America is the fattest nation because we are always on diets?!

Question: Does anyone think America is the fattest nation because we are always on diets!?
Does anyone else see this!? We are a culture obsessed with thinness, yet we are one of the fattest nations on the planet!. I personally think it is because we do diet!. I think even if we are normal sized our culture thinks tells us we are fat!. Therefore we diet for as long as possible, but then (because I do not believe anyone can stay on a "diet" their whole lives) we fall of the wagon and put the weight we lost back on, plus more!. Don't get me wrong WW and those diets do teach how to eat the right things, but we shouldn't force ourselves to consume food when we are not hungry, period! We should enjoy all foods in moderation!. I think diet drinks and fake sugar have something to do with it too, from what I've read they actually make people feel like eating more! I've felt like it after a diet Pepsi at least!

So here is to healthy eating, lifestyle changes, only eating when hungry and stopping when full, walking more, and drinking water!!

I think it's a good theory!. It's a well known fact that yo yo dieting makes you end up fatter in the long run!.

I totally agree with what you say, people should have healthier lifestyles and all foods can be enjoyed in moderation!.

Low calorie diets do NOT work!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

(Disclaimer: I don't mean to bash the American culture - this is my opinon!)

I think what you are describing is a cause and effect type situation!. America has the one of the highest stats for number of times the average person eats fast food!. Food studies also show that Americans have one of the highest stats of obesity!. Thus, resulting it much diet!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It seems like the more "diet" stuff they come out with, the higher our obesity rate raises!.

People here don't know how to eat healthy- all they know is that diets are associated with losing weight!. They don't understand that eating only cabbage soup for a year isn't good for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Stats prove that obesity is an epidemic in the USWww@Answer-Health@Com

Yeah go to Europe and tell me the ratio of fat people here and fat people there!. Big difference isn't itWww@Answer-Health@Com

with 60% of the adult population being overweight I don't think that is the really the case!. technically a diet is the regular food & drink of an organism!. so a person can have a healthy diet or bad diet or anything in between!. ultimately the quality of the foods in the diet determines how healthy it is or isn't!. far too many have diets based on highly processed foods which have nothing except negative effects on the endocrine system!. humans are designed to ingest whole foods, not foods laden with various chemicals to improve the shelf life and taste!. poor diets and insufficient levels of daily activity are what's causing most of the health problems in this country, the human genome has not changed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Weight Watchers IS NOT A DIET, they have been saying that since they started probably!. It is a FOOD PROGRAM, and that is the only way to loose weight!. You have to learn to eat correctly, and they don't tell you to eat when you aren't hungry!. Well maybe they used to or maybe some programs suggest that, but the basic program is based on you should eat this type of food!. Of course they would suggest times to eat, just because you think you aren't hungry doesn't mean it is a bad time to eat!. The problem is people get hungry THEN eat more!. If you eat what you should at certain times it keeps you from getting hungry!. America is so overweight because what they eat and that they get hungry and over-eat!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
