Working out, watching calories, and STILL gaining weight!?!?!

Question: Working out, watching calories, and STILL gaining weight!!?!!?
I am overweight!. Not just a little, but a lot!. 2 young kids, depression from becoming widowed at 29 and a thyroid issue don't help the situation!. But I've taken responsibility for getting healthy again and am having problems!. Knowing that I am less than motivated, I enrolled in a fitness class at the local community college!. So if I don't show, if affects my grade!. I spend an hour 4 days a week doing half moderate cardio and half toning excercises!. Also I'm keeping my calories at about 1400-1800!. So I've got to wonder WHY in the two weeks I've been at this!.!.!. have I GAINED 5 pounds!?!?!?!?

I feel better, am less tired and have a bit better stamina than I did when I started, but otherwise am very frustrated!.

Any ideas would be helpful!. My doctor and teacher both say to just give it more time!.

Thank you for your time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

2!.Muscle is "heavy!." You could be gaining muscle, not just getting fatter!.Try & flex yourself to see!.

3!.Your doctor&teacher are right!.Give it some time :]

Not much help, but hope it helped a little x]Www@Answer-Health@Com

Diet, and exercise you are already doing exercise, but by watching ur calories it sounds like you're still eating the same stuff, but watching how much you eat of it!. that is really bad, you need to go all natural, especially since they're bring out all the organic, natural foods now!. Get yourself into eating healthy and the exercising will join in and it'll be worth your whileWww@Answer-Health@Com

I'd listen to your doctor and teacher!.

My guess for your gain of weigh could be due to MUSCLE you've put on!. It really takes time to burn off fat!. Once you've been doing this for a longer time, and you start increasing the cardio, that's when you'll see a drop in weight!. Stick with what you're doing and don't worry!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Maybe you've gained muscle!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Could be muscle!. I'm not a fan of "controlled, scientific exercise and dieting"!. If I want to lose weight, I cut fast, and then just pick some physical activities (4 mile jogs, 2 mile swims or mix it up and always in the mornings!.) and some basic resistence (push ups, dips, pull ups, some jump rope maybe a kettlebell) and go back to sensible eating!. I!.e, none of that weight watchers, calorie counting 6 meals a day crap!. Some meat, some veges, some fruit and some potato or bread for carbs and lots of water, once or twice a day!. Unless you want to look like a fitness model, its not a whole lot of work to get in shape!.
Also, I will add that lack of sleep, and overwork or stress is going to not only affect you by leading you down an unhealthy lifestyle road, but also just makes your body feel like junk, which makes it hard to lose weight and be healthy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
