so that you can get a flat and tonned belly.

by the way i am on a diet, and i go gym!!
but i find it hard to tone by belly, and am going to the beach soon and i soooooo don't want to wear my swim wear!!

You have had some rubbish answers. Training the stomach is actually not all about how many sit-ups you can do it is about working the right muscles. The stomach is made up of rectus abdominus (6pack) obliques internal and external and your transverse abdominals. Presuming you have an average amount of body fat then it is actually your transverse abdominal that you want to be concentrating on. They keep our innards in place and create a nice flat stomach that the other stomach muscles sit over. The sit up does actually work this muscles but because of the crunching motion involved it doesn't work it in its optimum range. The kind of exercises you want to use are the reverse crunch, hip raises etc.
