Weight lifting question?!

Question:

Weight lifting question?

what i better for size and strength doing 4 sets of 8 and increacing the wait after every set like 145, 160, 175, 190 for each set or just doing 4 sets of 8 at the same weight like 175. if you have some for better workouts i would be interested in hearing them

Answers:

To start yourself out, stick to 4 sets of 6-9 reps at one weight, like 175. Really lift to your max and don't cheat yourself out. You need to stimulate your muscles and just lifting a weight 8 times without straining your muscles won't do you any good. Once you can do 175 more than 9 times on the first or second set, increase the weight (Also, you need rest so don't work out everyday or the same body part on consecutive days).

Down the road you will see it being harder to increase this weight. Your body will be reaching its "plateau" where it doesn't want to add any more weight to your exercises. A way to combat this is to try drop sets of giants sets.

Drop sets: This requires you to do a certain weight until exhausted, and then, without resting, pick up a slightly lighter weight and continue the exercise. For example, during bicep curls, try to lift to your max on 35, then 30, then 25, and so on. For the most part, most mass builders make 4-7 changes.

Giant Sets: This technique requires you to do a bunch of exercises in a row, all without rest in between. For example, you could do a set of barbell curls, then a set of military press, then a set of bench press, all without rest in between. Have fun!

Good luck and I hope this helps you.
