Are protein bars really worth it?!


Question: Are protein bars really worth it!?
I've been working out a lot and skipping a traditional breakfast and lunch the past few weeks and instead eating protein bars, but they are rather nasty at times!.

The ones I've been eating have 20g of protein and 190 calories!. They say delicious things on the labels, such as "Blueberry Crumb Cake," but taste nothing like what they are advertised to be!.

Should I keep these up or would it just be better to eat something like a granola bar!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Lifestyle changes are the key to keeping the "fisique" we are aiming for real!.!.!.If you don't want to be eating "bars" for the rest of your life!.!.!.find a real alternative breakfast "list" you can stick with!. Fresh fruit smoothies w/ lowfat yogurt bases!.!.!.blend them up and fridge them, take one with you!.!.!.Its real food!. An English muffin or half of one w/ something healthy to top it!.!.!."Dieting" with commercial foods will usually not hold out for the long run!.!.!.There are shake mixes with whey proteins and those are alright, but they aren't really a "diet" food!. They help with muscle mass!. South Beach diet bars in Chocolate or Peanut Butter are high in protein, and not half bad, but again, are you going to want them for life!?!?!? As we get near our 40's its a constant battle!.!.!.just do the best you can and don't obcess over it too much!. And for goodness sakes, don't eat the equivalent to card board for breakfast!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Protein Bars have a little more protein than the average candy bar, but pretty much have the same amount of sugar!. You're better off simply eating healthy, a balanced diet with enough carbs to fuel you and give you energy, but enough protein to keep you less hungry!. Often times people use them for meal replacement!.!.!.but technically, you shouldn't really be replacing meals in the first place!.

protein bars (good qaulity ones) are better alternative to granola bars!. granola and cereal bars tend to have to much sugar!. but i would stay away from bars in general!.

try making a shake instead and take it on the road!. get some whey protein powder and you can add flavor with different fruit!. I make a shake every morning takes less than 5min!. drink it during my commute!.

benefits are its fresh, you can add fresh fruit which will give vitamins and fiber that bars wont!. less sugar, less preservatives, less sodium!. only time i eat bars is if its last resort!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You would do better to get something like boost or instant breakfast with double protien!. I do in home nursing a lot, this is what all the Dr's tell us, "if the client is overweight use skim milk, if under whole milk"!. Give yourself better nutrition that way, for meal replacement on the go!. Granola bars are really full of fat, they taste much better than protien bars though!.!. good luck friend!. get a protein shake/ meal replacement shake for breakfast!. although you should eat something solid for lunch if you dont have something solid for breakfast!. dont want to get the runs!.
i would eat protein bars (usually only peanutbutter/chocolate flavored ones) as a snack/between meals!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Why would you want to put something in your body when you don't even like that taste!?
Try getting protein from lean meats, instead!.
If you don't have time for breakfast, just pick up a small snack like a handful of almonds or a piece of fruit!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Protein bars generally have highly artificial ingredients in them that will put strain on your body to digest, and they probably have more calories than a granola bar!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
