Are granola bars good carbs or bad carbs?!


Question: Are granola bars good carbs or bad carbs!?
I'm not on a low carb diet, I'm just trying to cut out the "bad carbs" like non-whole wheat foods and generally following the GI a bit!.
So would a Nature Valley granola bar (nothing fancy, just granola) be considered a good carb or a bad carb!?
They come in packs of two, so you get two thin bars that equal 220 calories per serving (because you're supposed to eat both of them)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ingredients: whole grain rolled oats, sugar, canola oil, crisp rice (rice, flour, sugar, malt, salt), soy protein, honey, brown sugar syrup, high fructose corn syrup, salt, soy lecithin, baking soda, natural flavor, almond flour, peanut flour,!. Contains soy, almond and peanut ingredients!.

What you want to look for are the words "whole grain" listed as one of the first ingredients!. If it isn't chances are that it's not a healthy carb

Whole grain oats are considered good carbs!. But similar to oatmeal though, which has good carbs but also high in sugar!. I would limit how many you have and not rely on it as your main source for complex carbs!. Whole grain bread is a much better sourceWww@Answer-Health@Com

They are good!. No matter the little portion of sugar, the carbs are unrefined and therefore better for your system and more fat soluble!. Also, the carbs in granola keep you full longer because they are unrefined, while refined carbs like white bread make your blood sugar level skyrocket and you are soon hungry again! granola by itself is good, but it's the other stuff they add so the granola sticks together and tastes good that makes the bars bad for you!. read the label, because some are better for you than others!. I think Nature Valley is good or Kashi!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Bad, low fiber content and sugar make them simple carbs!. Instead try Fiber One bars!. They are high in fiber and taste sooooooooooooooo good!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
