If you are doing cardio, you can do it on an empty stomach to start fat burning and increase your metabolism for the whole day!.
If you are going to be weight lifting, eat a small protein rich meal with complex carbs before (about an hour) and then another one after!.
You need to fuel the body for growth and for fat loss!

you should eat after exercise because its after exercise when the muscle repairs itself with the food , protein and sugars you consume !!
