Dropping Hemoglobine?!

Question:

Dropping Hemoglobine?

Dear all, I have a question. In the past 6 months I have had 3 blood tests done and everytime I have one myhemoglobine drops. It was 13.5 the first time, then 11.5 and the last one I did yesterday showed 10.2 hemoglobine.I have also started a diet of 1300 calories and started working out at gym. It seems that the more overweight and unhealthy I am, the more hemoglobine I have. Can you think of a reason? Thanks!

Answers:

Overweight has nothing to do with your hemoglobin level. The normal HB level for a girl is between 12 and 14. That means that you have anemia. This is either caused by a lack of iron, lack of vitamins, lack of both at the same time, cortisone treatment and other drugs. I think you should get more thorough tests to determine the real cause of your anemia. I also recommend that you postpone your diet and gym workouts until you get your HB back into the normal range. This can potentially be serious so don't take it lightly.
