I haven't taken hoodia myself, but I've spent a great deal of time researching it for my business. I'll first comment about Hoodia XPF since that's what your main question was and then I'll comment on what to expect from hoodia supplements. I'm not a big fan of Hoodia XPF, and here's why...

Hoodia XPF's big selling point is that you can, “try before you buy.” They offer a free trial of Hoodia XPF Plus. All you have to do is pay $6.95 for shipping and handling. You have 14 days to test Hoodia XPF. If you like it, then you are automatically enrolled in their “complimentary monthly auto-ship program.” You will be billed $50.00 every month plus $6.95 for shipping and handling. They say you can cancel anytime, but you can only cancel by phone. You cannot cancel by email. Just be aware of this if you decide to opt for the trial.

As for the product itself, Hoodia XPF has twelve ingredients and two of them are stimulants! This type of supplement has the potential for unwanted side effects, especially if you are sensitive to caffeine since that is one of the ingredients in Hoodia XPF Plus. The other stimulant in this diet pill is citrus aurantium, which is a mild stimulant similar to caffeine.

If you are looking for a simple, yet effective appetite suppressant with no side effects, the only ingredient that is necessary is hoodia gordonii – and the more the better. If you go to the Hoodia XPF Plus website online, they claim there is 525mg of hoodia gordonii powder in each serving (2 capsules). They also claim the powder they use is the concentrated core powder, which is the most effective type of hoodia powder available. Even if this is true, and I have my doubts as you’ll see shortly, 525mg in two capsules isn’t much when you compare it to higher quality brands such as Desert Burn and Hoodoba who have 750mg of concentrated core powder PER capsule (and no other ingredients or stimulants)! You can read more about these brands here:

The other problem I have with Hoodia XPF is they say they have all the required documents such as CITES certificates and independent lab tests to prove their product is authentic. These claims are terrific, but where’s the proof? You will not find any of these documents on their website. To me, that's a red flag. In the end, Hoodia XPF Plus just has too many unnecessary ingredients and they lack the proof that the product contains authentic hoodia gordonii. And even if it does, it contains so little of it that I doubt it would have any noticeable affect on your appetite.

Now, regarding hoodia in general and what to expect - despite the marketing hype surrounding hoodia, it only has the potential to do one thing and one thing only - suppress appetite. It does not increase metabolism, burn fat, or magically melt the weight away! If you're looking for a rapid weight loss solution, hooodia isn't the answer.

For those who have had success with hoodia long term (and that's the key), the average weight loss has been around 2 pounds per week. I know a doctor who has been administering hoodia to his weight loss patients for over two years now and that's what they have been averaging in terms of weight loss. They've also experienced other indirect benefits of taking hoodia. You can read about his experience with hoodia here:

And one final note, hoodia doesn't work for everyone. Some people simply don't respond to it. So just because it works for one person doesn't mean it will work for you. The only way you'll really know is if you try it yourself and see how you respond.

Hope this information helps.
