Is it bad to workout above target heart rate?!

Question:

Is it bad to workout above target heart rate?

I have been exercising and I noticed that my heart rate during a workout is between 170 and 200. If I am in good shape I can last 15 min with my heart rate at 200. I know I have to workout within 50% to 85% (I am 21). Is this a good sign? and should I slow it down?? because when I'm at 170 I feel like I'm just walking.

Answers:

You need to determine your target heart rate first (it's based on your age and stuff - most gyms can tell you plus I am sure there is a website). Once you get that # you don't want to workout above it because that is when you burn lean muscle.

And I am sure you don't want to do that. :)
