Pumped up muscles?!

Pumped up muscles?

Is there any significance to having really pumped up muscles following a workout? For instance, I just finished a chest workout and my chest looks pretty pumped up and huge compared to how it normally looks. This of course gradually goes down. But I'm wondering if this means I'm doing a good workout or maybe I'm working out wrong causing my muscles to pump up temporarily then just return to normal. I've worked out for years and this question has always bugged me when I notice how much bigger I look after a workout. And I know it's normal for muscles to get bigger while working out but I'm wondering the how pumped they are to significance ratio.


Answers:

It depends on what kind of workout and how hard you work for the size of each muscle so to answer your question it is hard to get a ration because the intensity of the workout would be the gauge
