Will running make you look better even if you don't lose much weight?!

Question: Will running make you look better even if you don't lose much weight!?
Hey, I'm a 19 year old male, 160 pounds (5ft 8inch in height), and I've been running about 2-3 miles about 4 times a week for almost a month!. People around me say that I look better and skinnier, but I've noticed that my weight stayed the same!. I was 160 pounds (or possibly a tiny bit more) before I started, and I weight pretty much the same, but people tell me that I look thinner and I think so too!. What does this mean!? My weight stays the same but I kind of look skinnier!. I was a bit chubby for my height before running by the way!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You may be losing inches!. Running say on a treadmill actually doesn't burn many calories and running isn't exactly low impact!. I lost 10 pounds with diet and exercise and for exercise which I did kick boxing and used the elliptical!. At one point I wasn't losing any weight but I was losing inches and people were noticing!. You are toning up your muscles by walking or running so you will notice a difference in your body!. If you have access to an elliptical I suggust trying that as it is good on your knees and burns more calories!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

what may have happened is that you burned fat (calories) and toned your body and at the same time you built muscle!. Now that thing about muscle density is that is weighs more that fat so you most definetly are loosing bad weight and toning to make way for the good weight that comes from a healthy muscle mass!

well, what is probably happening is that you are replacing your fat with muscle!. muscle weighs more than fat, so you need less to weigh the same amount!. Your BMI and body fat percentages have changed!.

also, running helps tones the muscles to get you a leaner body!.

keep up the good work!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm curious too!. I've been running a half-mile everyday for the past month and have not lost a pound!. I am trying to lose weight (I'm 6'2 and weigh 220)!. I thought I was being careful about my diet, but maybe not!. I'm a lot older than you so maybe that explains something!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Muscle weighs more than fat so you are probably burning fat and replacing it with muscle!.!.!.this means you will be leaner, healthier and have a better body fat percentage, but still weigh the same or sometimes more!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You may have gained muscle and lost fat, that makes you look better!. Like say you step on the scale and it says you lost no weight, but you did lose fat and gain muselWww@Answer-Health@Com

Your muscles are growing!. I am cutting it short so that you dont read long ones like everybody elses! LOL!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Oh it is possible! maybe you got tone or something that made you look skinnier!?!?!? Ok keep running!!!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, and it will make you feel better, especially on the insideWww@Answer-Health@Com

you'll burn fat and gain muscle!. !. !.Www@Answer-Health@Com

lmaoWww@Answer-Health@Com

lose fat !.!.!. gain muscleWww@Answer-Health@Com

YES most def will!. have no idea why!. My best guess would be the rate of fat turning to muscle maybe somehow it evens out!.!.!.just a guess!. I'm in the military and when I went to basic we worked out like psycho people and I was more fit than ever before, but I lost no weight on the scale!. However there was a def change in the way my clothing fit me plus my abs were on point!. I don't know why the scale doesn't change, but what really matters is appearance anyway, right!? Don't let it discourage you from working out!. I wish I had the will power to run that far everyday or even ANYday, lol!. The best part about running is what it does for your abs!.!.!. I read in a fitness magazine about a dude who claimed to have gotten a six-pack just from religiously running everyday one mile for six months without missing a day!.!.!.don't know if it was true or not though!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
