You cannot 'spot train' away fat by doing specific exercises!. What I mean is, doing just sit-ups or crunches will not help you get rid of any fat or flab on your abdomen!. You will simply be building up muscle underneath the fat, while you may be burning fat in other places of your body for energy!. The best way to lose weight is doing cardio exercises (walk, run, swim, bike, et cetera, anything that accelerates your heart)!. You should do cardio for at least twenty minutes a day, the more you do, the faster you will lose weight, but be careful not to overextend yourself at the risk of injury!.

Make sure to stretch adequately before doing any exercise!.
