How can I gain healthy weight?

I'm 5'7'' tall, and I weigh 118 lbs. Based on these measurements, my BMI (body mass index) is lower than normal, so I'm underweight. How can I gain healthy weight (and do it by August - that's my personal goal!)??? Answers are appreciated.

Crank up your protein intake and hit the weights. Its really a simple formula, and i'm not being sarcastic or condescending:

Eat Alot
Lift Heavy Things
Recuperate
Repeat

The most overlooked aspect of gaining size is eating. One must take in more calories than they expend, the body has no choice but to get bigger. Couple this effect with a proper weightlifting regiment and you will be golden
