Without surgery how you do get rid of a double chin!? Are there chin exercises or something!? It sounds ridiculous, but I'm serious!.!.!. it just won't go away! Like I said, surgery is not an option because the money is not in my pocket for that! Decent answers appreciated! Thank you!Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, it's not ridiculous at all!. I'm afraid that if there was such a "fix," there would be no women over 40 with double chins, turkey wattles, etc!.

That area does not have supportive muscles, so there are no exercises to help there!. There were facial isometric exercises in vogue for a while (they come back into vogue from time to time), but there is no evidence that they help in any way!. Also saw a "flex bar" that goes into the mouth to do exercises!. All interesting ideas that have not been proven to do "jack"!.

A double chin, if from fat, has to be reduced with overall weight loss!. The only spot loss is liposuction, which is surgery!. Some people just accumulate extra fat in their jaw and neck area, and that's genetic!. You can reduce the way it looks by standing tall, chest out, chin level like it's supposed to be!. You can take the attention off of it by framing your face and neck with V-necks and avoiding turtle necks and round necklines that follow your collar-bone area that mimic the roundness of the full chin area, by avoiding "choker" type necklaces and wearing longer pendant style necklaces that give that V, by getting a hair style that helps balance (elongate) that area!. Make sure if you wear make up that you don't just stop it at the jawline but lightly continue it on down your neck (lightly!) and slowly fade it out, which keeps that chin and neck area from standing out separately from your face (an abrupt change in coloration from jaw to chin & neck calls attention to the unmadeup part, the neck)!. There's a lot of illusion involved in looking good, no matter what!

Also, if there is extra weight in that chin area gravity is not it's friend and will stretch out the delicate skin in that area over time!. It's a good idea to keep weight down, generally, to preserve this area as more weight means more saggy chin area, and you can support that area with a head-band type of "chin support strap" when you're home, sleeping, etc!. Lucille Ball used things like this on her I Love Lucy show!. That will take the extra weight off that overwise unsupported under chin area and preserve it's integrity as long as possible!.

You are right: It just won't go away!. Surgery, which is a pretty radical fix even if affordable, would probably involve lipo plus a lift and removal of stretched skin, if you are older (you don't give your age)!. I say let's don't go there, and learn to look "good for our age" together and do the best we can with what we have!. Everyone ages, and here is some family wisdom from my late grand parents over the years: (1) Aging beats the alternative!. (2) Aging isn't for sissies!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
