Why am I having so much trouble exercising?!

Question: Why am I having so much trouble exercising!?
I've put on more weight than I wish I had recently, I feel all flabby and horrible, so I'm trying to 'tone up'!.

I've gone from 8!.25 to 9 stone (115!.5 - 126lb), and I'm about 5'6''!. The problem is I've started trying to exercise and I've tried crunches and push-ups mainly to try and increase stamina, as well as long walks, but I'm left really tired, and after just a mile my legs can ache for days! I didn't think I was that much overweight!

Why am I having so much trouble!? I've been slowly building up for weeks and have only shifted 2lb!.!.

Thanks x

PS, if it helps I'm 16 and quite medium-build, aside from the fat stored, my waist is 28''!. Tell me if you need any further details =]Www@Answer-Health@Com

First off you are not that off in weight!. The bit about doing crunches and push ups is not going to do anything for weight loss!. What is needed is an aerobic exercise that you body will tolerate and is still strenuous enough to burn calories!. The walking is fine but perhaps you need new shoes or inserts for shock absorption!. Do you stretch after walking!? That would be beneficial to you to do after a walk!. Perhaps a different exercise would be more in line with your body type!. Try cycling or swimming!. The ultimate workout for burning calories is weight lifting!. At your age you don't want to go heavy in resistance as the growth centers are still open!. Injuring one of them is not something that you would want!. So if you decide to try resistance movements do what are called super slow lifting!. That is using a very light weight and doing both phases of the movement, the up and down, for a slow count of ten!. This places a strong demand on the muscles without placing a large stress upon them!. At your age my recommendation is to use machines in place of free weights!. Get with a qualified trainer and let them show you how to perform the movements correctly!. Form is always important in lifting no matter what the weight is!. The advantage of resistance exercises is that it causes the body to keep burning calories long after the session is over!. You will lose fat and gain in muscle!. A change in the size of your clothes will be the first way to detect that this is working!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would say if you were pretty sedentary prior to your new program your body is still adjusting to the new routine!. It will take a little time to get into the swing of things but don't worry!. If you're keeping moderately active and doing actual exercise most days of the week it will start feel better!.

Also I'd take a look at your diet and make sure you're getting plenty of healthy nutrients and minimal junk!. You are what you eat!.

Good luck and keep it up!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just stick with it!. Your legs could be sore from shin splints, some people get them really bad, depending on how you walk (more on your heels than normal etc!.

If the front of your legs isnt whats sore than just stick with it, everyones sore for the first month or so that they start a new workoutWww@Answer-Health@Com

After I got on the Pen and Paper Diet and lost 15 pounds, I started jogging more because it felt less stressful on my heart!. The diet though is for adults so your supposed to check with your doctor if it would be ok for you!. They published it in a metric edition too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

im with you there!.
its healthy to loose one pound a week and thats it!. if your doing more, its probably not being done healthy!. walk each day for like twenty minutes once you can do that and feel okay once your done
walk for a longer time!. and keep uping your timeWww@Answer-Health@Com

first i really like the way you asked the question,it's interesting!.!.ok,keep on exercising,it's very important as we all know!.but exercise slowly, not so hard specially from the first time!.!.

soon you will be fit and cute
pls answer my question!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

you dont do it enough or have not adapted to the work load while exersizingWww@Answer-Health@Com

Working out is just that, it's work!. If you're not tired
you aren't doing enough!. Try to learn to enjoy that tired
feeling!. Think of it as a "good" tired, and relax because
you have worn yourself out!
The soreness in your legs is a good thing, by walking
you are causing microscopic tears in your muscles
which is how they grow!.Think of it as a "good" kinda pain, "feel the burn" of you getting into better shape!.
Next, you need to vary your work out!. Change where
you are walking regularly, and do different stuff instead
of just push ups and sit ups that can get boring real fast!.
Use music and friends to make it more lively as well!.
It's summer, go swimming! this is a great, non impact
all around body work out that is super fun
good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Some ppl take longer to get in the exercise zone than others!. I have had friends that it takes 8 weeks for them to not get soo drained after running a mile or two that they feel like they want to die!. Some ppl take to running better, som bodly building!. Its like some ppl in school take to math, but cant remember history!. Then others remember History, but can remember a math formula!.
Make sure you are feeding your body correctly!. Take a multivitamin and replenish electrolites around your routine!.
Finally remember that by doing pushups, and strength traning, you will build muscle, which weighs more than fat!. You may have lost 5 lbs of fat, but put on 2 lbs of musce!. You only see the 3 lbs lost on the scale!. Keep track of your inches not just the lbs!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
