Question: I don't drink milk!. Help me PLEASE!!?
Hello everyone !
I am 15 going on 16 and I weigh 122 and my height is 6'0'

I stopped drinking milk since i was 4!. (My mother told me)
I have gotton the blood disease (Anemia) many times!. I really think I'm still unhealthy by the way i look!. I really look anorexic!. I have asked my doctor for reccomendations and she always tells me to buy the Ferris Squels pills!. I really need to drink milk, and everytime I try, I throw up!. I've tried the special milk but I also throw up!. When I eat cereal, I don't drink the milk, I'll just wet the cereal with milk and eat it (no milk on spoon when i eat the cereal)

Can somebody please tell me what to do!? I can't do push ups at school cause i'm weak and my bones hurt!. I really want to be healthy!. I cry every night, because of how i feel and look!. What can I do!? Please help me out!.

You may have a three fold problem here!. One is lack of iron, the other is lack of calcium!. The third problem is that you are not taking in enough energy!.

At 6'0, you should be a minimum of 150lbs!. To start getting to that stage you will need to each about 3000kcal a day (I reckon you are eating below 2000 on average)!.

Dairy is overrated!. Some people are dairy-intolerant and unfortunately the industry does not readily admit that it is not the only source of nutrition for growing kids!. For calcium and iron, try eating oily canned fish with bones included (they are edible and actually have a form of calcium that is easier to absorb than milk's)!. You will need to eat red meats - with lamb being a good choice for you since it also includes lots of zinc!. Can you eat nuts!? Your body can also benefit from selenium that is found in brazil nuts and walnuts!.

Finally, spinach and other leafy greens like broccoli leaves and kohrabi cabbage are good secondary sources of iron, calcium and vitamins!. If you eat sweet potatoes instead of normal potatoes you will get a variety of nutrients/vitamins/minerals that can help you regain your health!.

Finally, keep a food diary of EVERYTHING you eat and drink!. Make sure you bring it to the doc the next time you visit!. He/she will be able to advise if you are missing something from the list (or if you need to replace foods/drinks from the list)!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

122 lbs seems to be pretty skinny for someone who's 6' tall!. Try supplements, take iron for the anemia, since that's an iron deficiency, and try calcium for your bones, teeth etc!. Keep trying with the milk, I don't know why it would make you throw up, is it the flavor!? Regular excersize will make you feel better, it doesn't have to be anything crazy or strenuous, but do something!. Good luck, I hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't drink milk either but I buy chocolate SILK (soy milk) and it tastes 100% better!. The regular and the vanilla flavored are okay but I LOVE the chocolate silk!
I just got a second opinion from my mother and she says change doctors and also try taking calcium pills or vitamins with calcium!. Good Luck!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Take Viactiv calcium chews, or drink calcium- fortified orange juice!. If you can stomach spinach or canned salmon w/ bones, those have good calcium too!. And Ensure is great for gaining weight and nutriton :) They are like smoothies!. There are also nutrition bars if you do not like the taste of smoothies (there is no milk in Ensure though)Www@Answer-Health@Com

milk is not all that grate for you !.!.!. my family and i don't drink it !.!.!. You may be lactose intolerant, which I understand can be difficult because you aren't getting enough calcium to keep your bones healthy!.

How do you do with cheese, yogurt and ice cream!. They are great sources of the goodness of milk!. There are such varieties of these alternatives, that surely something can tempt and agree with you!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Follow these steps:

1!. Take a calcium vitamin each day
2!. Take a multi-vitamin each day as well
3!. Get dairy in other ways like yogurt, cheese, ect!.

Try using other sources of calcium: cheese (although not too much, since it's high in fat) or yogurt!. My mum hates milk too, and she eats yogurt almost daily and is very healthy :)

You know I used to have the same problem!. Milk (WHITE) used to make me nauseous!. It just tasted SO horrible! But now I drink it fine! Are you maybe allergic to it!? Lactose-intolerant!? Any conditions!? Anyways, here is my help:

You have many options!. Chocolate milk, strawberry milk, vanilla milk, soymilk!.

I started drinking chocolate milk, a small cup, everyday!. Or I made a milk smoothie:

*A cup of ice-cream of your preference
*Chocolate chips, sparkles, M&M's, etc
*a small cup of milk (strawberry, chocolate, soy)

-Blend it all and leave it on the freezer for a few minutes until it is very cold!. Then drink! It tasted yummy and I totally forgot it was milk!. I also tried soy milk and it is soooo tasty!. Soymilk also comes in many different flavors!.

I also use Nesquik on my milk!. I use the chocolate kind!. I make a chocolate milk smoothie when it's hot or I drink warm milk w/ chocolate and marshmallows when it is cold!.

I suggest trying the milk smoothie recipe!. It works! You just have to get used to milk in a different flavor!. You won't even know it is milk!. That's the beauty of it!. Every day drink a small cup of milk w/ chocolate or do a milk smoothie!. Then as you get used to it start drinking larger portions (bigger cup, or 2-3 cups of milk a day!.)

Also if you drink milk with sweets it might help!. Like, if you eat chocolate cake dip it in milk!. After cake, milk is a yummy treat!. Cookies and milk!. Warm milk before bed!. Do recipes that involve dairy (anything w/ ice-cream, cheese, etc!.)


I guarantee this will help!. I am already used to the white milk!. And if I get nauseous I do the recipe or I add chocolate flavor!. Good luck! xxWww@Answer-Health@Com
