How often to train with weights??!
Question:
How often to train with weights??
i seperated my workout into 3 groups: 1) chest/back 2) legs, and 3) arms/abs...should i workout these diffrent muscle groups everyday or take a rest in between each group?
Answers:
Depends on how long you've been training, how long you've been on your current program and how old you are. That can be a fairly rigorous training split; rest is going to be important.
If you're just starting to train, I would take a day off in between each group for 2-3 weeks. You'll probably be really sore the next day. Most importantly, listen to your body. If you're really sore when it's time for another workout, take an extra day off. After that, I would work 2 groups on consecutive days, and then take a day off. To make it easier, you can even combine groups 2 and 3 into one day, which would allow you more rest days.
If you've been training for a while, then you know how to listen to your body and train accordingly.
As for overall rest, I'd recommend at least 2 days a week, 3 would be good. Every two months, take a week off.
Also, talk to the people who work at the gym. They're professionals and can give you great advice.
