Does anyone know how to get rid of love handles?

I don't have huge love handles but i do have them. They are very annoying and they make me look really fat! Does anyone know how to get rid of them?


Answers:

You are going to have to do 3 things to get rid of your love handles.

First you will need to burn off any extra fat that you have. It's not as hard as it sounds but it does take about 30 minutes per day if you want to burn it off quickly. Cardio. It doesn't matter what type of cardio but you need the fat blasting of cardio to jump start your metabolism. I like brisk walking and taebo (in the winter when it's cooler), but if swimming, jogging, or playing sports is your thing do it. You'll need to do about 30 minutes per day, 5 days a week. Since you mention that your love handles are fairly small it probably will only take you 3 weeks or so to see them practically disappear.

You should also watch what you are currently eating so that you don't pack on new fat while you are trying to get rid of the old. Nothing drastic, just cut back on junk food and switch from full fat dairy products to lower fat or better yet - non-fat.

You should also switch from white flour breads and pasta to 100% whole wheat or 100% whole grain. The whole grains have much more fiber than white flour, so they will fill you up and you use more calories trying to digest them.

Targeted exercises.
Spend about 15-20 minutes 4 times a week targeting your midsection. The two handed wood chop, the side jackknife(you will probably be only able to to 3 or 4 your first day but try to work up to 10), the saxon side bend and side bend rotation. As you will notice almost all of these have you twisting from side to side. This will use your obliques and will tighten and firm them up.

If you focus on your obliques you will get your desired results.

If you find that you have a bit of fat on your back right above your waist, you will find that the above will help that also.

Until you can whittle down your love handles just wear shirts long enough to cover them, in a few weeks for love handles will be gone and you can start to wear tighter and/ or shorter shirts.
