Do you find jogging by yourself so incredibly hard?!


Question: Do you find jogging by yourself so incredibly hard!?
I tried to jog by myself, and I just felt so vulnerable!. I could not breath properly and I was so weak!. It is obvious that I need to build my stamina!. However, when I try, I get so bored!.

A friend of mine told, who does lots of running, explained the very simple beginner's process - walk fast and for about 3 mins/jog for a couple of mins/return to fast walking!.!.!.until in time you can jog for a reasonable time without having to stop for walking!.

Have you tried this method!. What is your method to keep it going when you jog alone!?

I would like to give it another go as there is good park in my area and its is free and convenient, and I like being the open!. By the way, I find walking is fine, it's just the jogging that does me in lol!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I find jogging to be pretty boring no matter what!. I still do it occasionally, and I find that listening to music and having nice scenery to look at helps!. I also like jogging on a track (like at a school) because time seems to go by quickly--every time I feel like I want to stop, I look at how short the track is and I think, "Well, I can at least finish this lap!."

After you try different tricks to keep yourself going with jogging, if you still find that you don't like it, then don't do it! I stopped jogging for a few years, and I didn't miss it one bit until very recently!. I kept my weight down and felt healthy just by walking a lot and doing other kinds of exercise like lifting weights and aerobics classes!. Running is not the only answer!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I feel the same way!. If you don't feel safe jogging on the streets, try going to your local high school in the morning and jog around the track!. By my house, the track is full of old ladies walking/jogging, not too threatening!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Oh i love it now!. Ive been years on-an-off running, giving up and at some points i do better than other points!. My mom's a marathon runner and she had her own running class and everything!. What we did was one week we'd jog like 1!.5 min then walk 1 then keep switching it up, if its too much for you then take a break then walk!. I always bring a bottle of water and my ipod with some good songs!. Just keep increasing how much you can do, I used to be able to only do like 13 min nonstop and now i can almost do an hour, im only 14 so im sure anyone can do it! I think that is a good way to build up your stamina!. That is how I did it and it worked really well!. After I could jog then I alternated between jogging and running to build up to even faster speed!. Now I just run pretty fast the whole time (45 mins or so)!.

Also to help it from getting boring and to sort of keep time, I would make a mix with the songs on my ipod so that they went with the run- ie!. one slowish song then a fast song,etc and walk or jog depending on what song was playing!. It made it a little easier since I run by myself too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
